Beginning with the First Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY, the LAAT\/c saw service during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederation of Independent Systems and in the years thereafter. Crewed by a single pilot, the LAAT\/c was originally designed for battlefield deployment as an all-terrain tactical enforcer, but was soon modified during the course of the Clone Wars to accommodate a range of additional vehicles, using powerful magnetic clamps to attach payloads to keep in place.
